Barack Obama
Web Ads
Web ads are a evolving form of voter contact. Many question whether web ads really accomplish anything, often, it is only people who support you already who watch your web ads, and no one else. Web ads are easy to ignore, and as a result, people who don’t care to see them won’t.
But a few web ads do accomplish something. Let’s take a look at this web ad, 1984, which was released early in the Presidential campaign and created huge waves.

One important thing to consider is that this ad was not created by the campaign, but instead by a supporter. Stylistically speaking, its suberb, it has the look and the feel of a Hollywood production. It plays the outsider versus the oligarchy angle, Barack Obama the outsider vs. Hillary Clinton, the establishment.
But more important, this ad received HUGE play on the mainstream media, and in the end, received more than 3.4 million views on YouTube.com
