NithinCoca on Twitter
I’ve joined the revolution - it’ll be helpful in the future to do some liveblogging from the road and not having to worry about having internet on my phone. First, I need to get me some unlimited texting.

Yep, it’s July, and I haven’t been updating as nearly as often as I need to. I am changing the focus of this site, this is now my personal blog. Political articles will go up on a soon to be launched something.nithincoca.com section, and my travel writing will be hosted on travel.nithincoca.com. Here, simple updates about my life, and probably a lot of crossposting with the travel site as I see fit.
Yesterday was beautiful in San Francisco - absolutely perfect. Today? Cloudy, cold, and dreary. Went hiking to Sweeney Ridge, up the point where the first Spanish explorers “discovered” San Francisco bay. He must have been really lucky, cause all I could see was a sea of white. There was even a marking on the path - “fog line”, above which I was surrounded by cold, misty white.
It was a great hike.
And for your enjoyment, some photos from my recent roadtrip to Santa Cruz and Monterey, courtesy my friends who came on the trip with me. It was a fantastic time, never have I traveled with such a large group of people with so little conflict!
More updates soon - NithinCoca.com is back!
First of all, my apologies to anyone who visited the website in the last few days and got an error message. My host, due to security issues, automatically changed the names of all the databases and unfortunately it took me two days to realize the change, and update my configuration. Hopefully, this will be the last time that this happens. I guess it’s the price you pay when you get 100% Clean Energy webhosting.
Coca Travel will officially be launching soon - be prepared for it. Besides that, I’m working on some more Tibet posts, just cause the torch is gone doesn’t mean the cause is over.
Having reconnected to the world wide web yesterday, I am officially back and blogging like before. And boy does it feel good - having this cool, sleek new Wordpress to work with is making my return that much brighter.
Some things will change around here. If you read all my previous posts, you’ll notice that I am little scatterbrained, and that I’ve yet to find that real niche, or voice, that differentiates this blog from the thousands of others ones out there. I’m debating how to change that. Having a full time job with the Sierra Club, I can no longer blog with full freedom on political issues as it might interfere with my work. Don’t fret, I’ll still be writing about my man Barack, but expect little analysis related to environmental issues.
On the plate for this week - the Olympic Torch is heading to San Francisco, and I’ll be there to give you a firsthand account of what happens.
A little what’s up in Nithin’s life update. I’m getting ready to fly out to San Francisco on Wednesday, and a week later, I’ll begin work with the Sierra Club as their new Grassroots Media Coordinator. I’ll be doing a lot of travel for this job, so hopefully I’ll be in your town sooner than later. We will see.
Anyone have any tips for me about the bay? Finding an apartment is my biggest concern right now, shoot me an email if you can!

Fresh from my round the world trip blog, I’ve been working on some articles for a new, hip, budget/cultural travel website. Today, I installed Joomla CMS on the back end and am proud to announce that, within a month, I will be launching a brand new, travel blog.
NithinCoca.com will remain, and become more focused, as a political blog. With the 2008 race heating up, I don’t plan on being left behind. I’m still trying to find my niche, and my growing emphasis on rhetoric will probably end up being the focus, as the television ad wars heat up this fall.
The travel site (tentatively named Coca Travel, at least until Coca-Cola sues me) will also explore politics but in the same fashion that World Trippers did. I won’t be promoting and candidates there, not talking about elections, but about the broader political issues facing this world, such as Censorship, Free Elections, Human Rights, and more.
Anyway, hope you are having a good Saturday. I’ll be watching the NFL tonight (Go Jaguars!) and tomorrow (Go Chargers!).
I am heading up today to help our with GOTC (get out the caucus) for Barack Obama in Iowa. As part of my volunteer commitment, I am not allowed to post on a blog about what I am doing in Iowa. So, don’t expect too many political updates up to the Iowa Caucuses. I know, it sucks. But I will be back January 4th with lots of insider detail goodies about what’s happening in Iowa!
During my trip around the world, I made it a habit to take a photo of the view from my window wherever I stayed. From this came Windows on the World (WOW),a compilation of views from my window from all around the world, from Rome, Italy to Angkor Wat, Cambodia. Click here or on the photo to the left to see my Windows on the World slideshow.
Hope that you enjoy this! In other news, still not sure where I’m moving to on Sunday, and im starting to get upset at the Obama campaign for not ever getting back to me. Arghh!
